Quail Hollow Homeschool (2–5)
About Quail Hollow Homeschool
Our program has a visual and performing arts component, focusing on a theater production, as well as a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) component with student-driven presentations. Class opportunities also include field trips, a traditional beginning-of-the-year camping trip, networking, and volunteer opportunities, all of which contribute to a rich homeschool experience. Parent involvement is encouraged, with the expectation of attending monthly parent meetings as well as reading regular email correspondence.
Classroom days (Enrichment Classes) are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm on the Quail Hollow Campus.
MEET THE TEACHERS

KATIE PARMENTER (Quail Class)
I have been teaching since 1997 and teaching in our District's Charter School for the past 14 years with secondary and elementary students. I have my single subject - social science and multiple subject credentials. I am passionate about sharing my love of art and literature with children and watching them grow. I love spending time with my family, being outdoors, camping, working in the garden, and creating art.

I graduated from UCSC in 2019, earning a Master's Degree in Education and a Multiple Subject credential. I received my bachelor's degree in Biology and Environmental Studies from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Before getting into teaching, I worked for the EPA, testing air quality emissions all over the U.S.. My goal is to incorporate my love of the environment and hands-on education into my classroom to foster a caring, understanding, and collaborative learning community. I have been teaching at SLV Charter since 2020, and I look forward to many more years to come!
