Mission:
The SLV Charter Library’s mission is to make our library a welcoming place to all our students, teachers, and community members as we promote a love of reading and learning.
We strive:

- to promote and practice equity, diversity, and inclusion
- to support a sense of community
- to nurture imagination and creativity
- to encourage curiosity about the world around us
- to empower and equip students to become astute users of information by maintaining up-to date resources and providing the training to utilize them.
About the Library:
Our collection includes over 5,000 titles in print. Our catalog is web-based so students and families have access to the catalog at home or school, any time. In addition to books for students, we have books about homeschooling, curriculum books, and parenting materials. We encourage students to utilize the extensive digital resources of our local public library system.

Check-Out:
Students may check out up to 5 books for a two-week period. Books may be also checked out to parents/guardians. Students may check out additional books for special projects or classwork when needed.
Lost or damaged items:
In the event that a book is lost, students are billed for the replacement cost of the item or may replace the book directly. Parents can help at home by creating a special place for keeping library books and encouraging proper book care.
Volunteers:
The library is always looking for parent or student volunteers to help shelve books, organize sections, and repair books. If you are interested in volunteering, please email: chlibra[email protected] or stop by the office to pick up a volunteer paperwork packet.
Donations:
At this time, we are not taking book donations. However, financial donations are very welcome. Tax-deductible donations may be made through the SLV School Foundation, please make sure to note that the donation is for the charter library. Donations may also be made by check at the SLV Charter Office.
