ADHD Support Groups and Meetings

The Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay Branch of C.H.A.D.D. (Children and Adults with ADHD) Hosts monthly support group meetings for anyone affected by the challenges of Attention Deficit /Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to share resources and get support. The Parent Group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month and Adults with ADHD meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month. Camp Opportunity

County Mental Health (child and adolescent mental health)

Bilingual services are available. The Access Team is available 24 hours a day for Santa Cruz County residents to access hospitalization in a psychiatric crisis. Based on the results of an assessment, the team’s care managers will link individuals and their families to the most appropriate services available. Monarch provides advocacy and support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Monarch also provides prevention education in classrooms and community settings. Prevention education is geared toward creating awareness around healthy relationships, communication, affirmative consent, being an active bystander, and understanding the dynamics of human trafficking.

National Alliance on Mental Illness

NAMI Santa Cruz County offers support and classes for families of children with mental illness and for young adults who have a mental illness. Our website lists local resources, support groups, peer and parent education classes, and community events. We offer classes in the fall and spring that teach families the basic information necessary to take the best care possible of their child, their family, and themselves. The class covers the impact that mental illness has on the child living with the illness and the entire family; and provides tools to use even after completing the program that will assist in making the best decisions possible for the care of the child. The Lotus Collaborative

The Lotus Collaborative is a holistic health and recovery center for eating disorders. We specializing in eating, weight, exercise, and nutrition concerns including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, orthorexia, and compulsive exercising. We provide partial hospitalization services, intensive outpatient services, free eating disorder support groups, family therapy, nutritional counseling, and transitional living. Our Free Support Groups are open to anyone in the community struggling with an eating disorder, as well as those supporting a loved one who is struggling. We serve teens (14+) and adults — female, male and transgender from Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Jose, and San Francisco and the greater Bay Area.
