“Be so good they can’t ignore you.” – Steve Martin
Dear Charter Families,
Welcome to another great school year of learning together!
School begins Monday, August 19, and on behalf of the Charter administration and extended staff, I want to welcome you to a new school year with the SLVUSD Charter programs. Teachers get back to school on August 13 and will have their first week full of Professional Development and preparing their classrooms for the first day of school.
You will soon receive (or possibly have already received) a welcome letter from your teacher(s) with specific information about the program that your student is enrolled in. You will be getting regular emails from your student’s teacher throughout the year about school work, activities, field trips and special events that your child.
For those of you who are returning, we look forward to learning about the changes the summertime brought to your students. For those of you who are new to the SLV Charter programs, I know that you will fully enjoy all the classroom learning activities, events and field trip excursions your teachers have in store for you. We focus on building strong and positive relationships and each program can become almost like a second home for your child...and to you as well if you spend time supporting the classroom experience, supporting excursions, and connecting with the families whose children are learning alongside yours. The participation of our parents definitely is an important aspect of the rich opportunities in our programs.
You are on the front line in ensuring that your student is completing and turning in their school work and projects. And remember, your teacher(s) and I are only an email or call away. Our administrative team is also happy to help you in whatever way they can.
We have two Charter offices; the one on the Quail Hollow campus in Ben Lomond is where you can find our registrar. Our administrative office is on the Felton campus, located back behind the football field, near the school entrance to Fall Creek. This is where my office is located, and also where you can find Danelle Matteson, our administrative assistant. We are the ones for you to call for everyday questions, concerns, needs you may have with your child that are beyond your teacher’s field of expertise.
We look forward to meeting our new and returning students soon. Until then, may you enjoy your last days of summer vacation!
~Rhonda

STUDENT REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!!
PLEASE NOTE: Students are not considered fully enrolled until their on-line registration has been completed.
If you have received this Newsletter, your student has completed stage one of our enrollment process in our Charter programs. The final step is to complete our online registration so that we have all of your students' up-to-date information, including emergency contacts and any specific health data.
You should have recently received the message and an email regarding registration requirements from the District Office. IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE THE NOTIFICATION OR ARE NEW TO OUR CHARTER, PLEASE CONTACT OUR REGISTRAR, HOLLY, AT [email protected] and she will make sure that you can access the portal as soon as possible.
If you are NEW to our district, or you have not yet created your Parent Account, you must contact our school registrar, Holly Thomas, [email protected] to complete initial enrollment forms BEFORE entering information online. We recommend that you use one of the following web browsers for this application: Google, Safari, or Firefox.
We need your up-to-date contact preferences, student health data, parent/student permissions, as well as other important information verified or completed prior to the first day of school. Students may not attend class or receive their finalized schedule until the online form has been completed.
***Please complete your online registration forms within one week of receiving the email notification from the district.***
To complete the online forms, please follow these instructions below which were also in the email you should have received
To get started:
What’s a SnapCode? By clicking on the link in the box in the email, you are automatically entering your child's SnapCode. The SnapCode is like a key to your child’s Student Registration for the upcoming school year. Do you have a PowerSchool Enrollment Account?
Now, begin by clicking on the SnapCode Link in the box that is on your email to access the registration portal and form: |
When you initially get logged into the registration system you will see the Introduction letter.
- If you are a returning family/student please scroll down to the section of the letter titled “Returning Student” and ignore the beginning section about MANDATORY documents (this is for New Families/Students).
- If you are a New Family/Student we should already have all of the MANDATORY documents on file and that is why you are able to begin online registration.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Do I have to answer all the questions?
- Required fields are marked as "Required". If you don't have the address for your Emergency Contacts, please put N/A for each related field for Street, City, State, and enter all 00000 for the Zip Code. However, if you are requesting your contact to Receive Duplicate Notification or Mailing, please do not skip their address information.
What if I make a mistake?
- If you would like to make a change, click on the underlined field or click “< Prev” to return to a previous page.
I’ve completed the form, now what?
- When you have finished entering your information, click “Submit.” This will send all of the information you’ve entered to the school. If you cannot click on this button, you will need to make sure that you have answered all required questions.
What if I have more than one student in the district? Do I need to do this for each child?
- Yes, because you’ll need to provide information that is specific for each child. We recommend that you submit one Student Registration and then start another –this will allow you to “snap over” shared family information, which will save you time. Remember that each student receives his/her own unique SnapCode for completing the online registration for each student individually.
I don’t know what a question is asking.
- Please reach out to the school Registrar and ask any general questions about the form or the Student Registration process. SLVUSD Charter School - 831-336-5167
