The next books (Week 1) are:
1. Amina's voice by Hena khan
2. Princess in Black (1) by Shannon & Dena Hale

Week 1 - illustration and discuss story
Week 2 - Analyze and write about facets of the book: character, plot, scene
Week 3 - Charades/Improv inspired by the book, and discuss

More:
We’re wanting to spend about three meetings on each book, so roughly covering a third of the book each time. We’ll divide the kids into two groups according to book choice for the activity. 

1st third of book meeting will be an art activity with kids taking turns reading out loud while they draw. Groups will come together for last 10 mins to share art. 

2nd meeting will be “academic” with a parent or other willing scribe filling out some worksheets on plot, character, narrator etc. Kids will make predictions about plot and character arc and groups will come together for last 15 mins to share predictions. Clara’s idea of a letter to author or book review would be a good fit here too!

3rd meeting will be charades or improv based on the chosen book. Potential to create a little skit or scene to share when larger group comes together for last 15 mins. Some other ideas that might be fun for this one is for kids to make a playlist they think a character would make, or to extend a favorite scene into a skit.
