Dear Charter Families,

Testing has been completed for all but a few students who were absent the first time around. You students are to be commended for all of the concentrated time they gave to these tests. I have heard from some that it was fairly okay, and most said some questions were okay, others were hard.  And a big thank you to all the teachers who created a safe and stress-free environment for the students during the testing time.

In the last weeks of this school year, your students will be busy finishing their last projects, taking their last end of year finals, having their last special events of the year as they get ready for their program’s advancements or graduations.

May you continue to enjoy the end of their year with them.

ANNUAL PARENT SURVEY:

Each year I send out a parent survey so that we can get a good review of what we are doing well, and where we can get better. The cumulative survey results also help us with our LCAP reports needed each year.  This year I asked the Parent Advisory Committee to help me revise the questions asked based on their involvement in the Charter WASC, renewal, and LCAP plan.

Thank you so much for taking the time to complete this important survey.  We consider your feedback very important, and use this data to assess potential changes for next year.  There are parts of the survey that are designed for all programs, and some designed for specific grade levels or programs. Please complete the parts that are appropriate for your child's involvement in our Charter programs.

New Student Online Registration is active and in process

We are pleased that we are using a new student online registration program for the 2016-17 school year called “PowerSchool Registration”. We have heard that parents are finding this system much easier to complete and many have already completed their student’s registration for next year.

If you already have a parent account, you just need to log into your PowerSchool parent account and then click the “PowerSchool Registration”, which is a link in the menu items.

If you do not yet have a parent account, and have not received an email from Gail Heagerty, gheagerty@slvusd.org  our Student Information System and Database Specialist, please check your spam folder.  Please give her or Julie Walker a call if you need help.

All annual student online registrations must be submitted by the parent/guardian no later than Friday, June, 17.

Parent Advisory Committee/ Charter Renewal: Thank you to the parent who have continued to come and give input on the Charter WASC and petition document as well as the annual plan.

The Charter Renewal  will be going to the board for the final reading and approval this Wednesday, May 18.

Our LAST MEETING of the year will be May 17, from 3-4 P.M.  We will talk about what plans have been solidified, and what needs more refining as we prepared for next year.

Quail Hollow Integrated Arts: enrollment still open.  The program is not yet full, though we have passed the limit to guarantee it is moving forward! From now on, enrollment is date stamped as it is received; first come-first served. If you or others you know are interested in the program, please submit an application ASAP to ensure a spot.

In the coming weeks, there may be the possibility of opening some spaces to 6th graders, dependent on instructor/administrative conference, for the first year only.

Please email Amber Walker: awalker@slvusd.org Rhonda Schlosser rschlosser@slvusd.org for more info.  Quail Hollow Integrated Arts Application   Info Packet about QHIA    Quail Hollow Integrated Arts (QHIA) Info Packet
